The physical edition of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered will reportedly be significantly cheaper than its digital counterpart, according to a well-known leaker. THe claim arrives as part of a wider report that also lists a few more yet-to-be-confirmed details about Oblivion Remastered‘s physical release.
Oblivion Remastered is offered digitally in two editions. In addition to the base game, there’s its Deluxe-branded counterpart, which comes with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles story expansions, the Horse Armor set, and a couple of unique quests rewarding Mehrunes Dagon and Akatosh armors. Its other goodies include a digital artbook and soundtrack app. The two editions are priced at $39.99 and $59.99.
Oblivion Remastered Physical Release Reportedly 33% Cheaper Than Digital Deluxe Edition
A physical version of Oblivion Remastered was announced over the summer, and is presently targeting an October 13 launch. According to a new report by Dealabs’ Billbil-kun, this release will be significantly cheaper than its digital counterpart, which is far from the industry norm. The longtime insider claims it will retail for $39.99, which is even cheaper than the base game on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam. However, the physical release will be available only as the Deluxe Edition, which normally costs 33% more on digital storefronts.

Oblivion Remastered Physical PS5 Release Reportedly Includes the Whole Game on Disc
Billbil-kun also reports that the physical copy of the Oblivion Remastered PS5 version will include the entire game on disc, presumably with the latest update, citing unnamed retail sources. It is presently unclear whether the same will hold true for the Xbox version. Having the entire experience on disc is something that game preservationists would see as a win, especially given the rising frequency of physical releases that are just download codes in a box, much to some players’ frustration.
The physical edition of Oblivion Remastered will be released in both North America and Europe, Billbil-kun reports. The official pre-orders will kick off on Monday, September 29, as per the same source. Some European retailers have been taking pre-orders since July 2025, but if Billbil-kun’s pricing proves accurate and the physical version is cheaper than digital, those retailers may need to issue partial refunds.
The latest Oblivion Remastered update debuted in July 2025, bumping the game’s version number up to 1.2. It introduced performance optimizations and fixes for bugs affecting the RPG’s UI, audio, and quests, among other elements. That 1.2 build is presumably what will ship with the physical release, provided it does include the full game.
